Outdoor Sitting Area – The Concept

The school wanted to bring this large, unused, and overgrown internal courtyard back to life. They wanted a space where the children could enjoy the outdoor air, a place to eat their lunch and spend time with friends.

The Solution

Clearing the area including the removal of old paving slabs, and installation of a new drainage system. We laid a large artificial grass area and installed Ascot shelters and shade sails for cover and shade. Our Millar circular benches and our 6’ picnic benches were supplied to provide seating for 100 students.

    We provided a perimeter beam tensile structure with integrated drainage system, providing a waterproof covered area while minimising the number of pillars. The area was completed with the provision of Tunbridge furniture providing students with a place to sit in during break times.
